Telo Raises $20M Series A, Surpasses 12,000 Pre-Orders
Telo Trucks has closed an oversubscribed $20 million Series A funding round, bringing total funding to $27.8 million. The round comes as the company reports surpassing 12,000 pre-orders, representing over $600 million in indicated demand for its compact MT1 electric pickup.
Building Momentum
This is a significant milestone for Telo. Earlier in 2025, the company unveiled its fully-realized pre-production prototype in March, designed by Yves Behar and Fuseproject, and began press first-drives. MotorTrend called the 500-hp dual-motor prototype "ambitious and surprisingly capable." The funding follows a January announcement of a partnership with Aptera Motors to offer integrated solar panel options.
What's Next
The money will fuel Telo's push toward production, with the company targeting first customer deliveries in late 2026. Crash testing and homologation are in progress, with certification expected in early 2026. Initial production is planned at the company's San Carlos microfactory, with approximately 100 units going to high-deposit customers and fleet buyers first.
Our Take
Telo continues to be one of the most credible startups on this tracker. The combination of a physical pre-production prototype, positive press reviews, growing pre-orders, and now a meaningful funding round puts it ahead of most competitors. The hard part — crash certification and actual manufacturing — is still ahead, but the trajectory is encouraging.
